Joshua's Unit 5 Work Gallery:

Small Bust

this was my first attempt at making a bust. the process was really long and a bit complicated to get all the aspects of a human build from the shoulders up. I was freeballing the entire process with the eyes based on my experience with drawing sketches of faces starting from sketched lines. the one mistake i did and i totally forgot was to poke holes inside the skull when i was hollowing it out, this in the end made it to break and shatter. woops to all the pieces that got my shattered pieces.

Mask: Ghost Face/ with hole to hang up

I was really excited to make this Ghostface hanging. i was going to do a luchador mask but thought that Ghostface would more iconic and cooler. the process was fairly simple with just having to cut face and hood shapes. After i had glazed it i thought that adding blood splashes would make it even more iconic

Useful Piece: Incense Holder

I was inspired by a pinterest I saw and changed the colors to my favorite color blue. The process was good, all I did was flatten it out and use a cup to make a round indentation and slip and score three balls. The top ball ended up popping off but some underglaze fixed it and molded it back together.

Alebrije: Turtle

For my alebrije animal i just decided to make a simple colorful turtle. i got inspiration from Pinterest. it took a few classes just to underglaze and clear glaze it but also to just wait for it to dry in between glazes.

Current Artist Inspired: Mac DeMarco Musician

Mac DeMarco is a musician, since he's an artist I decided to recreate one of his album covers. It was a nice process really, just cutting out circle shapes and combining green colors to match the face in the album cover. The album i recreated is called "He Comes the Cowboy"

Choice Project: Rock Love Hand

I got inspiration from Pinterest and wanted to make this for my girlfriend. it was relatively easy and smooth process, although carving my hand there were some uneven cuts but that's okay. at first when I underglaze the heart I thought, why not add our initials.
